Interpreters, would you like a device with speech recognition to be by your side in the booth helping you? The idea is that a computer armed with such capability would be like the ideal booth partner, jotting down troublesome names, numbers, and technical terms for you. Definitely love the idea and even you may deem me a proponent thereof. AI has been a powerful tool in many arenas; so why not interpreting as well ? Interprebank is one example I believe , but the possibilities are infinite. Thank you Sir David for broaching this salient topic. The humanity is on the cusp of merging with AI. It is high time to embrace technology without fear.
