In addition to training junior colleagues down through the years, Mr. Violet set up the translation and interpretation services of United Nations offices in Rwanda, Angola and Kosovo from 1994 - 2000. In Kosovo, in particular, he was asked to train the entire corps of United Nations police interpreters in 2000, returning to Kosovo to train interpreters for the OSCE (2001), UN (2001, -02), Kosovo Prime Minister's Office (2002), NATO ( 2012, 2014) and for NATO Sarajevo (2012). In 2006-8 professor Violet taught French into English translation and interpretation courses at Monterey Institute of International Studies (Now Middlebury Institute of International Studies), the foremost training institution for interpreters in the United States.
